Kindle Your Desire For Recovery September 29, 2011 |
Kindle Your Desire For Recovery The dictionary defines KINDLE as "To start a fire, ignite, to glow or cause to glow, to arouse, to stir up." Each day we make a decision to stay clean and sober. As life goes by, sometimes it's easy to get complacent in our recovery. If we want to stay clean and sober, we need to keep our recovery fresh. In other words...we need to Kindle our recovery often. If you are anything like Shelley and I, we have to put our sobriety first. If we don't...nothing works. There are many tips, tools and techniques we can use to stay strong in our sobriety. There is a Bible verse that says, "Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God." Romans 10:17 I take that same concept and apply it to my recovery. "Staying clean and sober comes by hearing, and hearing the word of recovery." What do I mean by ... hearing the word of recovery? Well, there are many ways I can hear the word of recovery. -By going to NA or AA meetings and hearing people talk about recovery The last one above (reading books) is the one I wanted to mentioned today. Reading is a powerful way to keep your recovery fresh, or if you have never made a commitment to recovery, it's a great way to begin your journey to recovery. I have the largest selection and inventory of recovery books on AMAZON Kindle. 12 to be exact right now, they are: 1.
